Performance Art: Under The Covers, Dolore

Under The Covers, Dolore is a specialty musical performance art piece by Angie Donkin. Performed through a character named Angel Black-Orchid, Angie takes the audience on a journey through the inner workings of the human psyche. Within an immersive and interactive storytelling setting, the audience is encouraged to rediscover their own “inner eperience.”

There are parts of ourselves we have trouble accepting because we have been taught these “shadow aspects” are damaged and wrong. This often results in a psychological fragmentation. Under The Covers, Dolore aims to explore this fragmentation for the purpose of integration and self re-alignment. Through radical acceptance in a social setting, we daringly challenge the confines of modern societal norms, by encouraging instead to trust in one’s own subjective inner truth, guidance, and wisdom. By listening to the powerful messages we receive from our pain, fears, and past experiences, inner peace and harmony can ultimately be attained.
